Portugal South Coast - Lisbon to Spanish Border

The Castle of St Jorge is not far from the Lisbon Cathedral. The fortification built by the Moors in the 11th Century was the last defensive stronghold of the elite who resided within this citadel. The entrance gate, the walls and ramparts are pretty much intact but the royal palace is in ruins.
